The way I remember Graffiti...
The Power of a Spray Can - 2nd Edition
Let me tell you some things about the Graffiti World, back in the early 70's, when I first started writing: If you didn't hang out with writers that you could trust then that wasn't cool.
As for me, I hung out with writers that were like family; these writers always looked out for each other and spent a lot of time just having fun. Man, I mean, we used to sneak into the movies, one time rated x, and that was a big goof with the guys if you know what I mean. Word!
If you are a solo writer, that's cool, but it's no fun by yourself. If you didn't have anyone to talk to or plan your day ahead with, it would be a boring day. Me, I hung out with the fun writers. We would play basketball, go swimming, horseback ride, and also had a clubhouse with a stove and refrigerator in which the guys used to rack up food from the supermarket, and Chi Chi used to cook it.
I am talking about writers like Riff 170, Tracy 168, Chi Chi 133, Pel, Bot 707, Solid, Cliff 159, P.Nut 2, Lava I & II, Kool Brezze, All Jive 161, Turk 62, Fdt 56, Lsd 3, Clyde, Sonny 107, Zest, Fred, Checker 170, Lil Flame, Cost, Apollo 5, Ton 5, and Cit 2.
Each of these writers and myself have a history behind us. We all had Style, we bombed all subway lines and we were well known as top writers.
King Two back in the day. The art of creativity.
Peace Out to the Graffiti World
Just for the Record we were the first writers to do a top to bottom whole car in the # 7 Line. Chi Chi 133, Tracy-168 and King 2. Caine one, was not the first like he wrote about.
