Concourse
Crusader Exhibits Photos
By JORDAN MOSS
Carl
Rosenstein has put his love for the Grand Concourse's art
deco architecture into pictures. The Manhattan-based
photographer's work is on display at Fordham University's
Walsh Library through the end of June. The exhibit
features 13 large photos by Rosenstein and 20 small
illustrations and pictures gathered from the archives of
the Bronx County Historical Society and other sources.
Rosenstein and other preservationists want to draw
attention to the Grand Boulevard and Concourse, which is
home to the largest collection of art deco apartment
buildings in the world, so that it can be declared a
historic district by the city Landmarks Preservation
Commission. Supporters of such a designation include the
Bronx borough president, the Historic Districts Council
and the Bronx Landmarks Task Force. For more information
on the exhibit, call 817-3570.
