Scholarships to Tri-State Students

The McDonald's Owners/Operators of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut recently unveiled a new scholarship program that will a ward $175,000 to students in the New York Tri-State area. Arching Into Education is an effort to help all high school students pursue their college dreams.

Arching Into Education offers three types of scholarships, including McDonald's Golden Arches ($1,000 to Tri-State residents planning to attend their first year of college), McDonald's United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Tri-State Scholarships (several $1,000 awards and one for $10,000 to a student demonstrating outstanding academic merit), and McDonald's GopselFest Music Scholarships ($1,000 and one $5,000 scholarship to students planning to major in music).

Students are selected on the basis of scholarship criteria. Applications are available at all McDonald's restaurants in the New York Tri-State area including local restaurants: in Norwood, 300 E. 204th St., 3430 Jerome Ave., 1625 Webster Ave.; in Fordham Bedford, 2614 Jerome Ave. and 372 E. Fordham Rd. The application deadline is March 31.
