INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By Jules Ira Rubenstein

We asked youngsters and seniors at St. Brendan's School:

"What recreational facilities would you like to see developed in the Bronx?"

"I would like to have something very simple, like Bingo every day. I can't do much recreation -- can't dance, can't play tennis. At 90, I'm too old."

Ethel Lyman

"I would like the Bronx to have a 'Sports World' theater for games and stuff, [so] the Bronx people don't have to travel to New Jersey. And also a Sony movie theater, for us to watch movies with bigger screens and stuff."

Javier Fonseca

"Recreational reading. We're getting a Barnes & Noble in Bay Plaza in September. I called the borough president's office. It's coming -- I'm so happy!"

Mildred Gilliamsen

"I would like to see a water park in the Bronx, for the kids and for the families to go out together and have activities there."

Laura McAllister

"Exercise for the older people. What they had down at Fordham University, I'm raring to go again. Some people couldn't take [a whole] hour -- they had to sit down! -- but I did."

Muriel Hochedlinger
