INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

We asked readers if they had heard of or used the city's new 311 telephone number for complaints.

"I had an experience with it, and they were pretty good. I called 311 because I had a pipe break in my house. They did respond, and called the proper people who came to my house."

Magali Lozada

"I think it's a good idea, but they need to notify more people about it. I hadn't heard of it myself."

Michael Massaro

"I heard about 311 during the blackout. I used it to find out if the trains were running. I like the idea."

Calvin Wilds

"I've never heard of it, but I think it's a good idea. That keeps 911 for real emergencies."

Glen Eakins

"I like it, personally. I've used it and they were very helpful. I have called 911 before, and 311 was more effective."
