INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

We asked Medicare recipients, or those to soon qualify, if they thought the new prescription drug program passed by Congress will be helpful.

"I hope it's good for the older people, because the prescriptions and tablets cost an arm and a leg. I'll be saying a prayer that it'll work out."

Irene Burke

"I have a good insurance program, but there are a lot of senior citizens that don't have one. I think this is great for them."

George Gancarz

"It's great. The GHI doesn't pay for my glasses and I have co-payments for drugs. When I go to the drug store, they want money up-front. But if you don't have the money, they won't give you the medicine."

George Bommicino Jr.

"This is no good. They will take more money out of your paycheck. They're going to take that if you use it or not. And when you need medicine they're going to charge you."

Mike Fidis

"In the onset, it's a good thing. In the long term, it's a problem. The government is going to support big business —the drug companies. In the long run, the average person is going to be hurt."

Dwight Campbell
