INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

NBA star Ron Artest was suspended for the rest of the season after attacking a fan when spectators threw beer at him.  We asked readers if they thought the penalty was just.

"There were extenuating circumstances. He didn’t really start the fight. But when he went into the audience, he became liable. So yes, the NBA was right.”

Anthony Cooper

"I don’t think the suspension was fair. He should have been suspended until the All-Star game. This was a provoked attack, and is more about him being punished for his past actions.”

Wayman Baker

"His reaction was very awkward. Even if somebody provokes you, once you are on the basketball court, your job is to abide by the laws. I think suspending him for the whole season is fair. He needs to control his temper.”

Alfred Amoraw

"That’s a fair punishment. He’s a professional player, and his demeanor should be professional. He makes too much money not to act professionally.”

Daniel Mozoub

"If someone is attacked, in any manner, they should defend themselves. That’s what he did. The fans, they need to pay a price also. They should be punished too.”

Brooke Pizarro
