INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

We asked readers readers what they thought of John Murtha, a Congressional Democrat and longtime hawk, abruptly changing his support of the Iraq war and calling for immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops.

“Given everything, we should stay there.”

Sam Woodruff

“We’re right now at a stalemate over there. There’s a lot of animosity toward the U.S. It’s only going to be [up to] the President and his cabinet. I don’t think anybody else is going to have influence on that.”

Luis Cortes

“If he was a supporter of Bush’s plan in Iraq, and changed his mind so quickly, it must be something that we need to pay attention to.”

Raphel Uribe

“I think Bush should change his mind, but I don’t think he will. He’s just going to follow through with it no matter what happens. Everybody is dying over there, but still he doesn’t change his mind.”

Ronda Combs

“I don’t want the troops over there—bring them back.”

Ramon Marte
