"It really didn't have any cultural background whatsoever.  It had no historical significance to the Irish and it really was just a fairy tale, and a bad one at that."

Jim Prendergast

"I didn't care for it.  I feel it depicted the Irish in a poor manner.  And I feel that the way that it was stated was so far from myth and legend, that it couldn't be recognizable."

Shaeen O'Connell

"I didn't think it was degrading it all.  I thought it was a great movie.  It's not degrading to anybody, and I'm Irish."

Maria Flanaganwolf

"It was too fictitious.  it was too fairy-tale like.  It wasn't realistic at all."

Tom Kavanagh

"I only saw the second half.  I enjoyed it.  It was only a story.  I don't think it was putting the Irish down.  I thought it was kind of cute."

Eileen O'Sullivan
