By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

Congress has voted to spend $87 billion to help rebuild Iraq, at President Bush's request. We asked readers what they thought of that expenditure.

"We set out
our mission to get Hussein out. We got him out. It's time for us to get out. I don't think we should spend $80 billion or $80 million or even 80 cents in Iraq."

Miriam Cruz

"Congress should spend $87 billion to fix up parts of our country before we spend the money in Iraq. It's a bottomless pit that all this money is going into."

Marvin
Reisman

"It's a good idea. Bush went into Iraq, and I don't think he had to, so I think that spending $87 billion is a good investment. He has to pay for what he did."

Rhonda Combs

"That $87 billion can go right here in the United States. We could put the money in our schools. I just heard on the news that they've killed over 130 of our soldiers. So why are we still there? It seems they don't want our help."

Angela Holmes

"Spend the $87 billion in our country to develop our school system. The Iraqis have enough money and enough oil to develop their own country  without the United States' help."
