INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

We asked readers what they thought about the Bloomberg administration’s proposal to ban the use of trans-fats in restaurant cooking in the tri-state area.

It's inappropriate. I think people have the right to choose the food they eat. There’s a lot of foods that are no good for us and the government doesn’t have any business making that decision. It’s a waste of government time.

Judith Quinones

I wonder where it’s going to end. People can control where they eat, what they want to eat. The restaurants that want to do it can post it. I think it’s a case of the government getting too involved.

Pat Foley

Trans-fat should be banned because there’s a lot of people that are so obese. And the reason they are that way is because they sit down to a portion of French fries like they’re going to the electric chair! Think smart now, so you’ll be healthy later.

Selma Miller

I agree with the ban on trans-fat. It's a great step on New York's part. America's got to take on that kind of unhealthy trend over the next few years. New York, taking this step forward, is a really healthy one - a smart one for us to do.

Steve Colon

The proposal is good. It would be for the greater good of everybody involved, but it should be something that is selected. You could have two sides to the menu. People should be able to have a choice.

Thomas Alexander
