INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

We asked readers what they think about the Mets' recent firing of manager Art Howe.

"One year is not much of a chance. He was given an awful team-- they didn't play up to
their potential. They should give him another year, and if they're still the same, then fire
him."

David Velez

"The Mets need a shake-up. The team is going nowhere fast. I think [Howe] is too lax as a
manager."

Vernon Carl

"They should keep him [Howe] and fire the rest of the team! It's not his fault."

Michael King

"They made the right move because the Mets weren't going anywhere with Howe, and I
believe they need somebody like Lou Pinella or Larry Bowa. If they could get them, there'd
be a big difference with the team next year."

Michael Elliott

"They could have done it another way. It was nasty of them to do it like that. You can't put
all the blame on him. He's only one person, not God."
