INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

We asked readers if they thought Israel used excessive force in their battle against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

At first, I didn’t think they did, but I’m beginning to reconsider it. But, I know this: we have to back a democracy. I don’t think we have any choice but to support them on whatever they might do.

Ed Cafferty

I believe that Israel had every right to defend itself. That’s all I have to say.

John Rodriguez

From what I’ve read in the news and what I can see on TV, Israel is probably using excessive force. It’s pretty much war — that’s the route that both sides are going to take to solve things.

Lisa Fuentes

They have overreacted, because they have an advantage over those people. For two soldiers you’re going to go in and kill people? Why can’t you sit down and negotiate, without using bombs and killing innocent people?

Ronnie Willis

Yes. For two soldiers? Yes, they have. Try and negotiate, peacefully. It’s horrible what’s going on. I can see a third world war because of this.
