INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

We asked readers about whether the U.S. should send troops to Liberia to help stop a civil war in the African republic.

"They need support. The war has been going on for a long time. If we don't help them,
who is going to help? We could help bring some law and order there, and that's what they
need."

Orlando Rodriguez

"I oppose it. It's ridiculous that Bush is getting in everybody's business. He needs to stay
with America, as we have a recession going on. It's a civil war, so it's none of his
business at all."

Iyanna Jefferson

"I'd be in favor of sending over a 'token' force, as long as the European countries do the
bulk of the work."

Rod Hogan

"I oppose sending troops into Africa -- enough is enough! We had a bad experience in
Somalia; what makes you think it's going to be any different in Liberia? We have
problems here we have to solve."

Joseph Smith

"I oppose it. Bush tries to go everywhere and control everyone. I don't believe that he
should be there because he has no reason to be."
