INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

During Bronx Week, we asked readers what things they would like to see improved in the borough.

“Get rid of all these rodents. I think a way to eliminate the problem is being more expedient with the garbage pickup.”

Tammie Cheeseborough

“I would like to see the traffic lights improved on the Grand Concourse. Sometimes they are a little too quick and some of the elderly can’t get across. There are a lot of accidents due to people not being able to get across the street.”

Steven Nieves

“Get the gangs off the streets. It’s ridiculous! I own a shop on Webster Avenue and every day there is a gang fight. [The police] never catch anyone.”

Oscar Zaldivar

“I’m interested in the parks being taken care of and environmental education in the schools. Also I’d like a no-growth code … to stop more buildings, just adding more park areas and gardens.”

Ann Purvis

“For people to pick up after their dogs. That's very important. We have alot of children in the area, and the  dogs should be leashed. The police have to get more involved with this”

Kathy Francis
