INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

We asked readers if they thought the Rockefeller Drug Laws should be repealed or relaxed.

"The situation in the city is definitely getting worse and worse. These narcotic laws
should remain in place."

Ruth Sameth

"It should have been repealed a while ago. It's not a just and fair statute. People that
needed treatment instead of jail time really didn't get it in the past 30 years. It's well
overdue at this point."

Marcus Daugherty

"People should get jail sentences for more serious crimes. Drug charges aren't as serious
as some of the things that people are actually getting less time for."

Alberto Miranda

"The Rockefeller Drug Laws should be completely eliminated. It's unnecessary to
incarcerate people for great periods of time. I wonder if the laws are really a deterrent."

Jim Nailen

"I agree with the Rockefeller Drug Laws because my kids are growing up in the street,
and they don't need to be in a crossfire of drug wars."
