INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

We asked readers what they thought of some Catholic Church officials who have said politicians who support abortion rights should not receive communion.

"It's a wrong decision. It's a religious situation, and it shouldn't have anything to do with politics."

Nareida Centeno

"I don't think it's fair. When you go into church they don't give you a test on what your beliefs are. Who are they to judge people?"

Barbara Dowling

"I honestly don't believe that the Church should make that kind of decision. They're not going around taking surveys to find out who has had an abortion."

Alis Soto

"If you're a Christian, then you're supposed to be against abortion. Jesus said you should not be lukewarm -- you're either one way, or the other."

Robert Gilchrist

"If you're a Christian, the rule is that you're not supposed to be pro-choice. If you've made that choice, you still have to abide by the Christian rules; abortion is not allowed."

Cathy Reardon
