INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

We asked readers if they thought efforts by Congressional Democrats to withhold approving some of President Bush's judicial appointments were an abuse of power.

The minority party has always used procedures in [Congress] to either block or delay appointments … they didn’t like. It’s the Republicans who are trying to do away with something that has lasted for … years.”

Steve Bornemann

The people he’s picking are not really out to help anyone other than themselves. They’re doing the right thing by blocking the appointments. If they don’t fight for us lower class people, nobody else will.”

Lindy Woody

Anyone in the position is entitled to make those appointments. But I think we should be investigating how we ended up in this mess … with the presidency.”

Robert Vassilarakis

They have to first review all of the credentials of these candidates and then make a decision. I think the process is going the way it’s supposed to go.”

Helson Santiago

If you elected him president then you have to rely on his choices. You have to have faith in somebody that you elected … because he’s running the country. You can’t put him down.”

Bob Wickline
