Letters to the Editor
Ode to a Pit Bull
Dear Editor:
I love my pit bull, his name is Willie
I take him to the Oval and this may seem silly
I let him off the leash, let him run far and wide
The people see him sprinting, they get all bug-eyed
When joggers look up and see Willie so near
Running at them, they freeze in fear
I yell, "Yo Willie!" He stops on a dime
And comes back to me every single time
So far anyway
The park rangers wag their fingers
Say Willie must go
They're racist dogaphobes, everybody knows
But to keep the peace, I give them a vow
I won't do it again, no more no how
And I won't
Until tomorrow
Anthony Hogan
