INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

We asked readers what advice they would give Mayor Bloomberg in handling the city's financial crisis.

"I definitely would not cut schools. That's where kids go to take refuge. If you don't have those after-school centers, where will the kids go? Outside, on the streets
...they'll be
hustling on the streets."

Christopher Astacio

"The best way he can take care of this situation would be research. Look up the old ways
that we did. By reviewing the history we can do better on the future."

Edith Marrero

"When it comes to the essential services, like the police and fire departments, just don't
hire and lay off through attrition. Give incentives to get guys out earlier -- that would be
the way a normal business would do it."

Bill Blake

"I would try and get the State to allow him to have a New York City lottery to raise money for the people here."

Al Rosselli

"I'm very concerned about cutting Universal Pre-Kindergarten funding. I'm a pre-K
teacher, and I see the value of it -- there are a lot of children who can't afford to go to
nursery school."
