INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

We asked readers if they thought it was a good idea for New York to host the Republican National Convention this summer.

"I question the safety of having another big activity like that in the middle of the city. I don't know if many people will feel safe with that many important people in one area. I don't really think it's a good idea."

Linda Cintron

"I think it's a good idea, if they heighten security, because the city needs the money now from tourists. I do question the president's stance on Iraq, but it's a good idea to help generate a little income for those who need it."

Schwana Ellis

"They should have the convention someplace else for safety and security concerns, like in Washington."

Fred Leiner

"It's a great idea because we should restore ourselves to a normal way of life in the city. We shouldn't let other foreign policies that are negative take over our lives. We have an agenda that's working."

Oscar Pellicier

"The city needs the convention in order to create money, but the Republican Party has to deal with the fact that we are still waiting for the 9-11 money. They should be ready to answer questions about where the money is."
