INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

We asked readers which of the two New York baseball teams improved themselves the most during the off-season.

"I would say the Yankees, because Steinbrenner continues to spend money on the team. He's got some really good players now in his lineup. Matsui -- "Godzilla" -- I think he's for real. But the Met players have gotten in better shape."

Sean Davis

"Mets -- they've got a couple of good pitchers, like Glavine and Stanton. The Mets are going all the way."

Jerry Grasco

"I think it's equal. The Yankees are going to have trouble with their pitching. I like the Mets' managerial change. Mo Vaughn lost a lot of weight. Burnitz seems to be hitting home runs. They're the team."

Steve Gold

"I'm a Yankee fan, but I think the Mets improved themselves. They brought in a very nice manager, and the players seem to be receptive to that. The acquisition of Glavine made a real impact."

Mary D'Andrea

"Both teams did a pretty good job upgrading. I'm sorry to see Ordonez leave. Cliff Floyd's a great pick-up. Let's see what the story is with David Cone. I also think Tommy Glavine is going to be an anchor."
