We asked readers who they thought would make the best vice-presidential running mate for John Kerry.

"John Edwards would make a good running mate. Kerry and Edwards balance one
another -- Edwards is charismatic, he's got the Southern popular vote. They would
appeal to the majority of Democrats."

Jean Murphy

"Bill Richardson. He would help get the mid-western votes, and being Hispanic will help
him as well. Bush is going to get Latino votes, so we need somebody to pull that vote,
too."

Dorothy Henry

"General Wesley Clark. We've got a big mess and we really need a general to straighten
this stuff out."

Bob Rice

"I would guess John Edwards. If Kerry is an 'Eastern Liberal' and Edwards is from the
South, they broaden the geographical appeal, and that's a good political strategy."

Lew Hyman

"Dennis Kucinich. He wants a 'single-payer' system of medical coverage for all. Most
people I know want that system. It's very reasonable and every country in Europe has
that system."
