INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

We asked readers what they thought of New York Congressman Charles Rangel's proposal to restore a military draft.

"I think it's unfair. A lot of people who are in school or working might get taken into the
draft and may not be able to continue their pursuits. We have enough people in the
Armed Forces already."

Jason Drakeford

"I wouldn't like to see a draft, because I don't want to see military activity progress in the
Middle East. I think the draft would promote war, as more people would be available to
fight."

Kevin Nolan

"I have mixed feelings about it. I have a 15-year-old that would be almost eligible to serve. I don't really approve of him doing that at this time."

Mark Mollow

"I would like to see the draft reinstated. A lot of times we take our freedom and our
privileges here for granted. It's an opportunity for young people to get a sense what life
in America is all about."

Arturo Smith

"I think it's a wonderful idea. It gives the young people some direction - those who don't
know whether they're coming or going. It will send them in the right direction."
