INQUIRING PHOTOGRAPHER

By JULES IRA RUBENSTEIN

We asked readers if they have been avoiding beef since Mad Cow Disease was discovered in one cow in the U.S.

"I don't think it's really a big deal, as it's only one cow. I don't think we have anything to worry about right now. I'm not going to change anything."

Cotterell Brown

"I've totally changed my eating habits. I eat more turkey and chicken now than beef or hamburgers."

Chevonne Sharpe

"I haven't changed my eating habits. I think it's getting blown out of proportion. I think people should just continue to eat as they normally do."

Jimmy Crespo

"Until the scare is over, I'm ordering a chicken sandwich when I go to fast food places. I'll just stay tuned to the news, and when the experts say that the scare is over, I'll go back to meat. I'll be a little more cautious, though."

Selim Khan

"If you trust your supermarket or butcher, then you should be fine. I'm not a big red meat eater, so maybe that's why I feel fine. But I still purchase meat."

Laurie Bonhomme
