A Wave Hill Lavender Demo Sunday, June 28 - 1:00 pm
On the Grounds. Often associated with soaps and potpourri, lavender can be a delightfully unexpected ingredient when used in sweet dishes. Taste lavender-laced treats, then follow your nose to the lavender border to enjoy our diverse collection of lavender in full bloom.

On one August evening in the 1970’s New York gave birth to a sound that would change the face of Latin music forever. At the renown Cheetah Nightclub, there was an ensemble of artists got together for what became a magical evening of music. The show was billed as “Our Latin Thing“. In the decades ahead those all-star musicians would become the ambassadors and juggernauts of Latin Music around the world.  Free concert at St. Mary's Park on July 7, 2015 from 7 - 9 pm.

Free workshop on Wednesday, July 8th
from 5 - 7 pm will teach you how to maintain a quality lawn area  Healthy grass demands proper mowing techniques, occasional dethatching, and aeration. Knowing when and how to apply these practices will lead to a dense, vigorous grassy area.

Come and speak with recruitment staff from the NYC Administration for Children's Services and provider agencies to learn about making a difference in the life of a child by becoming a foster or adoptive parent. Location:  Lt. Joseph P.Kennedy Community Center, 34 West 134th Street (Lenox Terrace Place), NYC.  Directions: Take the #2 or #3 Train to 135th St. Lenox Avenue (Malcom X Blvd). Play Some Tennis this summer. New York Junior Tennis and Learning is just weeks away from officially opening its new tennis center at Crotona Park, which will include 20 reconstructed tennis courts and a two-story clubhouse. The center will offer nine-week sessions of full day tennis camp for kids starting on June 29, as well as a free Community Tennis Program starting weekdays on July 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. where children can learn the basics of the sport. Visits will include the inspiring work of young people who are gardening in the Bronx.  Tours continue monthly until October 24 with The Haunted Garden.  Each tour (except September) includes a delicious, healthy lunch catered by Bronx-based B-Blossom.  For all events, dates, prices, and locations.
