Van Cortlandt Park Conservancy Presents: Barefoot Dancing
The Conservancy's mission is to sustain and enhance
the park as a vibrant destination for recreation, leisure and the enjoyment of
natural landscapes. In partnership with the New York City Department of Parks &

Recreation, the Conservancy aims to help maintain, preserve and program Van Cortlandt Park through fundraising efforts as well as public outreach.
Barefoot Dancing is free dance instruction paired with live music from
around the world. All ages are welcome to attend. Dates and Times:
Thursdays: July 17th, July 24th, July 31st and August 7th, 2014

Sunset Music: Kora Musicians Salieu Suso & Malang Jobarteh Wednesday, July 30 - 7:00PM-8:00PM On the Grounds Wave Hill. A descendant of Jalimady, the inventor of the kora, Suso began his training at the age of eight and has performed throughout Africa and Europe. Information here...

FOUR SUMMER SUNDAYS SPECIALTY ARTS CLASSES AT BRONX HOUSE THIS SUMMER, the program runs four consecutive Sundays beginning July 20, with each Sunday focusing on a different discipline. The first Sunday’s focus is Music and will include Latin Jazz Ensemble, String Ensemble and Rock Band classes. The Special Needs drumming program on July 27, Rhythm Connects, is an inter-generational family program for adults and their children between the ages of 7 and 17 on the Autism Spectrum. August 3 is dedicated to Dance and will include lessons in Modern, African and Tap. Finally, the Theater program on August 10 offers an afternoon exploring Fairytales, Improv and Theater Games, and Audition Prep/Scene Study. Bronx House is located at 990 Pelham Parkway South.
