For
Working Adults, a Liberal Arts Baccalaureate Degree
Opens a World of Opportunities... |
The
College of New Rochelle School of New Resources is a
leader in adult higher education. Now celebrating 35
years, the School of New Resources (SNR) has
graduated more than 15,000 women and men from
diverse social and economic backgrounds. These
graduates have gone on to pursue advanced degrees
and to enjoy successful careers in education, law,
business, psychology, art, social services and the
ministry.
Understanding the needs of adults, students may take
classes in the mornings, evenings and on weekends.
With campuses in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and
New Rochelle, students earn their degrees right in
their own neighborhood.
“The most startling thing about The College of New
Rochelle is its willingness to go the extra mile to
help us reach our goals. The program is workable and
adaptable; most important of all, it’s conducive to
an adult lifestyle.”

SNR
offers several advantages including:
-
Adult Career
Planning
A dedicated instructional staff helps students
develop an individualized degree plan within the
School's curriculum to meet individual
educational goals and maximize opportunities for
success.
-
Credit for Prior
Learning
Through the Prior Learning
Portfolio process, students may apply for up to
30 credits for learning from work and life
experiences — and earn a degree even faster.
-
Learning Environment Designed for
Adults
Classes are in a
seminar format, creating relaxed, conversational
classrooms, with an average 18 students.

|
Given its
track record and caliber of responsiveness in
meeting the needs of working adult students, it’s
not surprising that the School has been named Best
Practice as an “Adult Learner Friendly Institution”
by the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning.
The
School of New Resources welcomes adults age 21 or
older, who have a high school diploma or its
equivalent, and have successfully completed an
English assessment, which is used for academic
advisement and placement. Financial Aid is available
to individuals who qualify for aid in the form of
grants, scholarships or loans.
