The Committee of 100 Democrats
was resurrected by the North Bronx Thinktank in 2004
to achieve political strength for legislative success and
a positive quality of life.

reprinted from the North Bronx Thinktank Summer 2006 Newsletter

In June of 2006, The Committee brought in over 2600 Democratic signatures for 9 North Bronx Neighborhoods.  Their goal was to "tag team" with both the Ben Franklin Club and Bronx County to ensure "our struggle for North Bronx quality of life continues," says Chris Alexander, Chairman of the Mosholu area.  Anthony Rivieccio dispatched a 19-member committee covering Fordham, Kingsbridge, Bedford Park, Kingsbridge Heights, Mosholu, Van Courtlandt Park, Norwood and Riverdale, to achieve the job.

Local candidates endorsed were:  Assemblyman Jose Rivera, Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, Assemblywoman Naomi Rivera, State Senator Efrain Gonzalez and Congressmen Eliot Engel and José Serrano.
"More importantly," said Rivieccio, "North Bronx Thinktank needed to show that The Committee of 100 Democrats had the 'oomph' to stand with other political organizations.  By getting District Attorney candidate Mark Green on the ballot, I think we achieved that purpose."

According to Chairman Ricky Martinez, best showings were for Congressman Engel and Assemblywoman Rivera in the Bedford Park and Mosholu areas. Another stronghold showed the Committee having substantial influence in Mosholu-Riverdale with the Mark Green win."
